The 1st European Motorcycling Senior Activity Meeting will take place in Salsomaggiore (ITA) on the 19th and the 20th of May 2012. During the meeting, will be held the 1st European Motorcycling Senior Activity Conference, whose slogan is “extending the riding age”. The meeting is addressed to motorcyclists of the age group (over 60) that represents almost 20% of the European population. These riders, who have plenty of free time and are already involved in activities related to vintage bikes and tourism, are the perfect target for UEM to provide information and useful activities with the objective to extend their motorcycling experience. UEM aims also to promote physical activity programs dedicated to this segment of motorcyclists, with motorcycling becoming the opportunity for physical exercise and social networking, reducing anxiety, increasing self-esteem and improving everyday mood.
The International Motorcycling Senior Activity Conference event is likely to involve over-60 years old motorcyclists coming from all Europe with parades and exhibitions of vintage bikes, workshop on preventive aspects linked to the extension of active age on motorbikes, social activities and movies.
Salsomaggiore Terme, famous for the quality of its thermal waters, will host the first event of the UEM Motorcycling Senior Activity Project, which will start in 2012. This candidature was presented personally by the mayor Giovanni Carancini, who is a great enthusiast of two wheels and collector of vintage bikes.
